What is “My June Favorites?”

Well, I decided to start a monthly blog post where I let you know what my favorite things from the previous month were. Books, movies, TV-shows, merchandise kind of a box of mixed chocolates, that I hope you will enjoy. And since we are at the beginning of July, this post will be my June Favorites.

Books:

I am not a very fast reader, so this category will not be filled every month. I am reading the second book of the Outlander series at the moment. The book is called “Dragonfly in Amber” and is written by Diana Gabaldon.  “Outlander” it’s predecessor was a faster read, but I am 70% done with this one, and am looking forward to reading the next one, which I scored at half price books. If you are a fan of the show, please know there are some differences. In my opinion, the show did the book great justice.

Movies:

All I can tell you is, go see Rocketman! I fell in love with this movie, the music, the costumes, the actors. If you are expecting another Bohemian Rhapsody, then you will be disappointed. It is so different and just as brilliant. The music drives the story. It is so well done. I loved two of the T-Shirts so much, that I decided to create replicas of it. You can find them here.

TV:

Good Omens:

I don’t have cable, but I do have Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Netflix. So this month I anticipated “Good Omens” on Amazon. The book was awesome, and I got my son, who is dyslexic to read it. So we both were all giddy for the show. We had promised each other to watch this together, so it took us a couple of days. And all I can say, we loved it! It has been one of the best books to screen adaptations I have ever seen. David Tennant and Michael Sheen were perfectly cast as Crowley and Aziraphale. My Mad Fat Diary:

My next series was “my mad fat diary” on Hulu. This one struck a chord with me. As I struggle with my weight and depression. Hence I loved this one and binged it. Yup, I stayed up past 1 am to catch another episode. It’s a bit of a Teenage Angst series, Sharon Rooney as the main character is fantastic. I found out that there are books and they are now on my “to Read” list. I can only recommend this one.

Pose:

Now we come to Pose on Netflix. This one is also fantastic. Billy Porter and all the cast are amazing. When I first started to watch, I thought it was about the Ballroom Scene in the ’80s in New York. But no, it’s about relationships, and how some of the fights from back then are still fought today. Also the struggle with AIDS and HIV. It is fantastic, and I am sad, that I have to wait for the second season.

Merchandise:

I bought some things this month, that I absolutely adore.

I also got this cute Key Chain from Miss3s on Instagram, Firefly will always be my first love and fandom. I always aim to misbehave.
