July Favorites
Claudia’s July Favorites
My July Favorites are a bit slim. Not much was going on, but I promise August will be much better. I am going on Vacation and my Birthday is in August.
Books:
Well, I am still reading Dragonfly in Amber, which is book #2 of the Outlander Series, I am at 80% and hope to finish it soon. The problem I think I have is that English is my second language, even thou I have lived in the US for over 20years now. I wonder if reading them in German would be easier?
My second book is “Profit First” by Michael Michalowicz, I am trying to read more business-related books as I would like to take Sew-Geek a level higher. This book has been recommended to me by many and it opened my eyes quite a bit.
Movies:
Sigh, I did not get to to the movies this month at all, cause I was busy with summer things and physical therapy for my elbow. And I’ve been helping a friend of mine. But I digress, we have been watching oldies but goodies and Top Gun is on top of my list. I am not a Tom Cruise fan, but when I saw the Trailer for Top Gun Maverick, I got excited. I introduced my 16year old Son and he is now excited as well.
Shazam:
I finally did see Shazam, but not in the movie theater and it was great. It’s my favorite of the DC movies. I do have a thing for Zachary Levi ever since Chuck. And if you don’t know what I am talking about, then you might want to look it up. Shazam is a great Family movie and in our family, it might be added to our Christmas Movie list.
TV:
RuPaul’s Drag Race
Since we no longer have cable, it took me a while to get to catch up. But thanks to Technology and my awesome sister, I am was finally able to catch up. I love it so much.
Grace and Frankie
I can’t believe nobody told me about this show. The characters are so lovable and seeing Martin Sheen and Sam Waterson as a Gay couple makes my heart sing. I am not all caught up yet, but it’s a show I enjoy very much.
Queer Eye
Way back in the day before Netflix, I watched the original Queer Eye and fell in love, so I was excited to see that season 4 was here. My favorite thing is that they have no gender boundaries anymore. It’s just all on a beautiful human level. And the makeovers are fantastic.
Podcast:
The Adventure Zone
My child has been listening to it and cosplays as Taako. We went to Austin to see the book tour for their second graphic novel. Well on the way back I started to listen to if from the beginning. It is hilarious and very entertaining. My favorite is to follow the players on how their characters in the game evolve and develop. I made it thru the first arc and am starting the second one soon. And I know we will be listening when we head to Florida next month.
Clothes:
I am normally a Shorts and T-Shirt kind of gal, but I wanted to try to find some dresses that are comfy and cute for my size and I found a style I love and got two dresses. It’s called a cold shoulder dress and it’s so comfy. It even has pockets, I got it from Amazon. I hope at some point to make a pattern and sew me a couple in Geeky Knit fabric.
These were my July Favorites, I hope you enjoy these reviews with me and I will see you in August
